DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE BETWEEN YOU AND MY SHOES is on store shelves, as of May 27th. Dixie did the first book signing at Books-a-Million in Grapevine, Texas.

On Tuesday, June 3rd, Dixie heads east for a week of stops and book signings in Memphis and Nashville, TN, at the Davis-Kidd stores; in Lexington, KY, at Joseph-Beth and Birmingham, AL, at Little Professor. This should be another one of those interesting trips since we’ll be driving from Memphis to Nashville to Lexington, then back to Nashville. The airline routes were just too insane to try to fly.

For example, to get to Lexington from Nashville, we were going to have to fly on commuter airlines from Nashville to Atlanta, change planes in Atlanta and fly back to Lexington. However, driving, the distance is only about 200 miles. Then to get to Birmingham from Lexington, we were going to have to fly to Cincinnati, change planes and fly to Birmingham. My sister gets air sick and takes Dramamine, which puts her to sleep. Flying on a small plane, she would probably have to take even more Dramamine, so we were looking at the possibility of her sleep-walking through the book tour.

The schedule is posted on the web site at www.dixiecashauthor.com. If you’re in that part of the country, stop by and say hello.

ANNA JEFFREY NEWS

LONE STAR WOMAN has a cover and it’s gorgeous. The best cover I’ve ever had. I’ll be posting it soon. But the name on it is my new pseudonym, SADIE CALLAHAN. In fact, this newsletter will probably be the last I sign as “Anna Jeffrey.” Someone wrote to me and asked me if I was changing genres or changing my writing style. And the answer is neither. The books will still be the same. Just a new name. I’m not changing the Web site, either. At least, for now. So my Web site will still be www.annajeffrey.com. As I said in the previous newsletter, it’s a marketing thing.

SWEET RETURN received a 3rd place in the Write Touch Readers Award contest conducted by Wisconsin Romance Writers in Green Bay, WI.

Another reminder that SWEET WATER is now out of print. New copies are no longer for sale online. However, like ALL of the Anna Jeffrey books and ALL of the Dixie Cash books, new copies of it and of THE LOVE OF A STRANGER can still be purchased from my little local bookstore at stacksbookstoregranbury@yahoo.com. Just email Heather and she’ll be glad to complete a transaction by email and mail you a book.

DIXIE CASH NEWS

The “Elvis” revisions are done! And shipped back to New York. Yaaay! Now we have to wait to see if our editor likes the revisions and then start thinking about a title. Release date will be June, 2009.

My sister and I have started on a new Debbie Sue & Edwina tale. This one is a ghost story, so the working title is GHOST. If you’ve read any of the Dixie Cash books, I’m sure you would agree that no one could be better at ghost busting than Debbie Sue & Edwina, especially since Edwina sincerely believes in ghosts and other psychic phenomena.

The Dixie Cash Web site is still a work in progress. Be sure to drop by occasionally and check out the changes as they occur. www.dixiecashauthor.com.

WHAT I’VE BEEN READING

“Alibi Man” by Tami Hoag, but my husband ran out of something to read and he took that one away from me before I finished it. So then I picked up “PerfectMatch” by Jodi Picoult. Intriguing plot line in that one. I also found “The Prey” by Allison Brennan. I had started that one months back, but I lost it. Then I was sorting through a box of papers and I found it. My house is full of books, so I could run across one anywhere. I found a couple books in my TBR pile that I’ve been meaning to read since I know the authors, “You Don’t Know Jack” by Erin McCarthy and “Ain’t She Sweet” by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.

So since I have to continue my washing and ironing and packing, I’ll wind up with this. Something for all of us to consider – Oscar Wilde said, “Life imitates art”, which might or might not be true, depending on your point of view. But then Woody Allen said, “Life doesn’t imitate art, it imitates bad television.”. I think I’ll go with Woody Allen.

Anna (soon to be Sadie Callahan)
